Prior to choosing a career in academics, Neff (right in photo) worked in the legal field for over 10 years, specializing in trial preparation in insurance defense work and personal injury, as well as research analysis in patent and trademark, health law and civil litigation.
She left the legal field in 2006 to pursue teaching at the university level which lead to a new career in academics and her current position as Director of Educational Services, at Marian University, in August of 2008. With the help of local attorneys and paralegals, Neff developed the new paralegal studies degree that launched in fall of 2011 and has developed a new partnership based, hands-on business degree curriculum, involving community outreach and partnership establishment among local businesses, non-profits and sports teams.
Neff graduated from Purdue University in Lafayette, Indiana with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and English. Her Master of Arts degree, in English, is from Butler University.
She and her partner, April Priest, owner of the Indy Crash and head coach, dedicate their time to the team’s mission, success, marketing and community awareness. Neff never played football; she was a swimmer, but April’s passion for football has inspired her and the other Board members to get the community to embrace these female athletes, in a sport that refuses to put women in a box. She admires the sport and the league for accepting all women and the unique talents they bring to the team, on and off the field.
Neff credits April and her love for giving her a new found energy and a better outlook on life and what is most important.
Neff also enjoys yoga and boxing; their dogs, Jasper and Yoder, and time with friends and family in their local Broad Ripple community.

COMMUNITY AWARENESS ADVOCATE
Jewel is originally from Roann, Indiana but has lived in Indianapolis for 9 years. She attended Marian University, where she received a Bachelor's degree in Communication with a minor in Sociology. She loves teaching and knows that it is her calling, whether it be in the classroom or in her everyday life. This has lead Jewel to be the Community Awareness Advocate. With her background in Sociology and a desire to teach, Jewel feels that women's sports are underrepresented. The Indy Crash falls under the stereotype that it’s not "real tackle football" or that women’s sports are less entertaining. With this, she hopes to inform the community about the uniqueness of the members of the Indy Crash, as well as the true competition that exists in the WFA.
